Inis Ruby Roy 1917-2002 Obituary
Inis Ruby Roy, 85, a resident of Parsons, departed this life early Wednesday morning, April 3, 2002, at her home.
She had been in declining health and death was attributed to emphysema.
She was born Feb. 17, 1917, at Hendricks, a daughter of the late Donald Lee Summerfield and Lottie Mae Rhoades Summerfield.
She was married to the late Denver Roy, who preceded her in death in September 1986.
Surviving are two sons, Stelman Ray Roy and wife, Betty, Parsons, and Winfred “Winnie” Willard Roy and wife, Midge, Winchester, Va.; several stepchildren, three sisters, Sarah Nestor and husband, Bud, Parsons, Elsie Lipscomb and husband, Lonnie, Augusta, and Bonnie Hartpence, Dakota, Texas; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and niece and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one son, Charles Roy; one brother, Cecil Summerfield; one sister, Susan Teter; one grandson, one half brother and two half sisters.
She attended the schools of Hendricks.
Along with her husband, they operated the Parsons Laundry Mat for many years.
She was a housekeeper for various families of Tucker County.
She was a caretaker, a homemaker and a member of the Pentecostal Church at Rosendorf.
At the request of the deceased, she was cremated and a memorial services will be held at a later date.
