Howard Clyde Troy Sr., 88, a resident of 114 Ellis Ave., Elkins, departed this life Friday afternoon, Dec. 13, 2002, at Davis Memorial Hospital. He had been in declining health and death was attributed to Alzheimer’s Disease.
He was born Saturday, July 11, 1914, at Fairmont, a son of the late Mansfield Troy and Florence Hibbs Troy Myers.
On Feb. 6, 1937, at Elkins, he was married to the former Winifred Taylor, who preceded him in death on May 19, 1988.
Surviving are two sons, Howard Clyde Troy Jr., Falmouth, Va., and Kenneth S. Troy, Berkeley Springs; one daughter, Ann T. Wood, Salem, Va.; one sister, Madeline Hopkins, Washington, Pa.; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, Jeffrey A. Troy; and one brother, Harold Robert Troy.
He attended the schools of Fairmont and Mannington, was employed by Columbia and Carbon, which later became Citgo Corp., retiring in 1979 as a production supervisor. He was a member of the Woodford Memorial United Methodist Church, was an avid golfer and bowler and enjoyed hunting.
Friends will be received at Lohr & Barb Funeral Home from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today. Final rites will be conducted at the funeral home chapel Tuesday at 1 p.m. The Rev.
