Lowell Raymond Thorne 1958-2002 Obituary
Lowell “Raymond” Thorne, 44, of 304 Watkins St., Belington, died Friday evening, Oct. 11, 2002, at his home, following an extended illness.
He was born July 31, 1958, at Elkins, a son of Lowell Thomas and Vivian Eileen Ware Thorne, who survive at Belington.
On June 21, 1997, he married the former Della Marie Davis, who survives at Watkins Street, Belington.
Also surviving are one son, Nicholas Thorne, Belington; two daughters, Kara Thorne and Sara Thorne, both in Texas; one stepson, Travis Felton, Belington; two brothers, Thomas Larry Thorne, Belington, and Roy Dale Thorne, Texas; two sisters, Helena Blanche Price, Junior, and Mary George, Norton; two adoptive brothers, Jerry Lovett Thorne, Elkins, and Christopher Gene Thorne, Belington; and one grandson, Jonathan Lyons.
Mr. Thorne was a former over-the-road truck driver and lumber mill lift operator.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was a member of the Church of the Nazarene.
Friends were received at Schoonover – Stemple Funeral Chapel in Belington from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. Sunday and from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. today, when funeral services will be conducted from the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Doyle N. Rider and the Rev. F.L. “Wink” McQuain officiating.
Interment will follow in the Belington Fraternal Cemetery with Barbour Post 44, American Legion, conveying military honor
