Mary E. Schuster, 95, mother of Father Roy Schuster of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church of Coalton, passed away Monday, Sept. 2, 2002, at 4:20 p.m. in Nella’s Nursing Home, where she had been a resident since 1997. She was a former resident of Castle Shannon near Pittsburgh for several years.
She was born June 9, 1907, at Cleveland, Ohio, a daughter of the late Alois Walburga Lenz Wolf.
She was united in marriage to John Schuster, who preceded her in death in 1994.
Mrs. Schuster had just celebrated her birthday on June 9, 2002.
She is survived by one son, Father Roy Schuster of St. Patrick Catholic Community, Coalton; one sister, Helen Scott of Elyria, Ohio; one brother, Robert “Bob” Wolf of Wakeman, Ohio; three grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death besides her parents and husband was one daughter, Mary T. Miller, who preceded her in death in 1972; and several brothers and sisters.
She was a homemaker and a member of St. Anne Catholic Church in Castle Shannon and a member of the Christian Mothers.
Friends will be received today at St. Patrick Catholic Community Church at Coalton from 5:30 p.m. until 7 p.m., at which time the Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Father Roy Schuster, pastor of the church, will be the celebrant. On Thursday, Mrs. Schuster will be moved to the St. Anne Catholic Church in Castle Shannon, near Pittsburgh, where friends may call from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m., at which time the Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. Schuster. Interment will follow in the St. Anne Cemetery in Castle Shannon, near Pittsburgh. In lieu of flowers the family has requested that memorials be made in Mrs. Schuster’s name to Catholic Community Service of Elkins. The F.E. Runner Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
