Gregg Melton Morris, 81, of Belle Grove Road, Prairieville, La., died Wednesday, July 3, 2002.
He was born March 22, 1921, in Troup, Texas, a son of the late Gregg and Christine Melton Morris.
He is survived by his wife, Virginia Shaw Mullens Morris of Prairieville, La.; one daughter, Linda Jacobus of Midland, Texas; one son and daughter-in-law, James and Chevelle Morris of Montgomery, Texas; three stepsons and their spouses, Wayne and Lynne Mullens of Gonzales, La., Jake and Sherry Mullens of Clearwater, Fla., and Brad and Ginny Mullens of North Bay, Ontario; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Mr. Morris was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Navy. He was a Baptist by faith.
Friends will be received at Heavner & Cutright Funeral Chapel Monday from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m., the funeral hour, with Pastor Eddie McDaniels and the Rev. Robert Heavner officiating. Interment will follow in Pleasant Dale Cemetery at Selbyville.
