Wilda Pauline Poling Smith 1937-2002 Obituary
Wilda Pauline Poling Smith, 65, of Mabie, died Tuesday, July 2, 2002, at her home, following an extended illness. She had been under the care of Hospice Care Corp.
She was born June 30, 1937, at Mabie, a daughter of Iris Ruby Simmons Zirkle, who survives at Mabie, and the late Russell Zirkle.
On May 4, 1958, she was married to Herbert Marshall Poling, who preceded her in death on June 11, 1992. On June 15, 1994, she was married to Woodrow Walter Smith, who preceded her in death on Aug. 7, 1997.
Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Karen Sue Phillips, Philippi, Mrs. Deana M. Lopez, Romney, Ms. Sandra L. Poling, at home, and Mrs. Carola “Jean” Godden, Belington; three sons, Paul Edward Poling, Akron, Ohio, Russell Wayne Poling, Romney, and Richard L. Poling, Mabie; four brothers, Dayton Zirkle, Doyle Zirkle, Delbert Zirkle and Doran Zirkle, all of Mabie; one sister, Ruby Ware, Cassity; 15 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Smith was a certified nursing assistant and was a member of Harrison Community Church near Mabie.
Friends may call at Schoonover-stemple Funeral Chapel in Belington from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Thursday and at the Harrison Community from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. Friday, the funeral hour. The Rev. Greg Lanham will officiate and interment will follow in Rowan Memorial Cemetery near Mabie.
