Stewart C. Triplett 1921-2002 Obituary
Stewart C. Triplett, 81, of N. Bergen, N.J., died Wednesday, June 19, 2002, in Englewood, N.J., following an extended illness.
He was born June 28, 1921, at Belington, a son of the late George and Minnie Coonts Triplett.
He was the last member of his immediate family, having been preceded in death by five sisters, Virgie Hill, Goldie Triplett, Dorothy Phillips, Evelyn Reese and Mary Alice Giordano; and two brothers, Earl Triplett and Oscar Triplett.
Survivors include several nieces and nephews and several grandnieces and grandnephews.
Mr. Triplett was retired as a self-employed upholsterer. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the European Theater with the 393rd Field Artillery. He was a member of the American Legion, the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the First Baptist Church at Cliffside Park, N.J.
Friends were received at Schoonover-stemple Funeral Chapel in Belington Saturday and Sunday, where funeral services were conducted from the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Downing Gregory officiating. Interment followed in Belington Fraternal Cemetery, where Barbour Post 44 of the American Legion conducted graveside military rites.
