Carol Jack Biller, 71, a resident of Kerens, departed this life at 1:41 a.m. Saturday, May 25, 2002, at his residence. He had been in declining health for the past 12 years and seriously ill for the past 15 months, and his death was attributed to emphysema.
He was born Oct. 6, 1930, at Montrose, a son of the late Cecil J. Biller and Hattie Canfield Biller.
On June 5, 1954, at Mercy Chapel Church at Montrose, he was married to the former Wilma L. Canfield, who survives.
Also surviving are three sons, Cecil Douglas Biller and wife, Linda, Kerens, Lloyd Wayne Biller and wife, Patty, Dale City, Va., and Craig Alan Biller and wife, Brenda, Little Elm, Texas; two daughters, Mildred Louise Biller, Belington, and Dolores Jean Crossman and husband, Ellis, Kerens; nine grandchildren, Tina Dawn Dobbins and husband, Staff Sergeant Joseph Dobbins, PFC James Douglas Biller, Melissa Sue Biller, Abraham Wayne Biller, Samantha Louise Biller, Nicholas Ryan Biller, Elizabeth Nichole Crossman, Brittany Hope Crossman and Sarah Denise Crossman; and one great-granddaughter, Gracie Morgan Dobbins.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Jerry Lou Chipukites.
He was a graduate of Elkins High School with the class of 1948. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Korean Conflict serving as an artillery surveyor. He was a self- employed carpenter for many years. He was an avid fisherman, a former member of the Kerens Lodge No. 183, IOOF, and a member of the Leading Creek Volunteer Fire Department for more than 20 years. He was a member of the former Hart’s Chapel Church at Kerens, and a member of Mercy Chapel Church at Montrose.
Friends will be received at Lohr & Barb Funeral Home today from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Final rites will be conducted at the funeral home chapel Wednesday at 11 a.m. The Rev. Bryan Headley and Harold Gainer will officiate and interment will follow at Mountain State Memorial Gardens at Gilman. The family suggests that expressions of sympathy be in the form of memorial contributions to Mountain Hospice, 1410 Crim Ave., Belington, W.Va. 26250.
