Doris Ruth Isner 1917-2002 Obituary
Doris Ruth Isner, 84, a resident of Kerens, departed this life at 8:55 a.m. Tuesday, April 30, 2002, at her home. She had been in declining health for the past three years and death was attributed to cardiac arrest.
She was born Tuesday, Aug. 14, 1917, at Cass, a daughter of the late Charles E. Fuhrman and Ruth Jackson Fuhrman.
On May 26, 1944, at Green Bank, she was married to J. Herman Isner, who survives.
Also surviving are one brother, Robert Fuhrman and wife, Charlene, Elkins; four sisters, Mary Catherine Dahmer, Marjorie Eloise Riffle and Nina Mae Polland, all of Elkins, and Anna Sue Beck, Richmond, Va.; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by twin brothers, Charles Edward and William Jackson Fuhrman; and two sisters, Mildred Wilson and Helen Fuhrman.
She attended the schools at Cass. She was a graduate of Green Bank High School, with the class of 1936, and earned her teaching degree from Davis & Elkins College, having taught at Wildell, Salisbury and Clover Lick. She was a homemaker, a superb cook and a Methodist.
Friends will be received at Lohr & Barb Funeral Home from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday. Final rites will be conducted at the funeral home chapel Saturday at 2 p.m. The Rev. Donald L. Lockhart will officiating and interment will follow at Maplewood Cemetery at Elkins.
