Albert Junior “June” Hile, 77, a resident of Horseshoe Run Road, St. George, and more recently a resident of Cortland Acres Nursing Home at Thomas, departed this life Wednesday morning, March 20, 2002, in the nursing home. He had been in declining health and death was attributed to respiratory failure.
He was born April 2, 1924, at Leadmine, a son of the late Albert Samuel Hile and Nancy Mae Auvil Hile.
On Jan. 10, 1943, at Red House, Md., he was married to the former Lylah Janice Kight, who preceded him in death on June 7, 2000.
Surviving are three daughters, Donna Elaine Cunningham and husband, Alby, St. George, Nancy Mae Fansler, Elkins, and Joyce Anne Louk and husband, Randall, St. George; one brother, Foster “Allen” Hile and wife, Dorothy, Holly Meadows; one sister, M. Marie Phillips and husband, Tim, Parsons; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
He attended the Pleasantvale one-room school at St. George. He served with the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II. He was a construction worker and woodsman.
Friends will be received at Barb & Greenlief Funeral Home Friday from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Final rites will be conducted in the funeral home parlor Saturday at 11 a.m. Pastor Alby Cunningham will officiate and interment will follow at Bethel Cemetery at Holly Meadows.
