Dorsey Glenn Bennett, 84, of 10 Nona St., Apt. 205, Buckhannon, died at 3:50 p.m. Friday, March 1, 2002, at his home in Buckhannon.
Mr. Bennett was born March 16, 1917, in Clarksburg, a son of the late Silas Opha Bennett and Nancy May Reed Bennett.
He was twice married. First, he married Beatrice Irene Welch Bennett, who preceded him in death. Second, on June 26, 1964, he married Gloria Justine Shreve Bennett, who survives.
Also surviving are three daughters, Phyllis Jean Hollen, Buckhannon, Sandra Elaine Jarvis, Tennessee, and Ladora Lynne Myers, Timberville, Va.; four sons, Ronald Lee Bennett, Darrell Ray Bennett and Allen Wayne Bennett, all of Buckhannon, and Paul Eugene Bennett, Palm Springs, Calif.; two stepdaughters, Karen Ann Sampson, Staunton, Va., and Brenda Joyce Pennington, Thomas; two stepsons, Charles D. Quick and Arden E. Quick, both of Buckhannon; two brothers, Orie C. Bennett and Mason A. Bennett, both of Clarksburg; a brother-in-law, Frank Shreve; several grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Dorothy Mae Bennett; and one sister, Mavis Bennett.
Mr. Bennett was a plumber and electrician. He was owner operator of Bennetts Recording & Duplicating Center in Broadway, Va. He attended Buckhannon Church of Nazarene.
Friends were received at Poling-st. Clair Funeral Home Sunday from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Funeral services were held in the funeral home chapel today at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Mark Davis and the Rev. Tim Britton officiating. Interment followed in Ten Mile Baptist Cemetery in Ten Mile. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Gertrude Chapel Church, in care of Edna Koon, HC 71, Box 13, Ellamore or The Tenants Association of the Buckhannon Manor, in care of Maxine McNair, 10 Nona St., Buckhannon, W.Va. 26201.
