Nora Marie Bennett, 94, of Route 4, Box 457, Buckhannon, died Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2002, in St. Joseph’s Hospital in Buckhannon.
Mrs. Bennett was born May 19, 1907, in Hall, a daughter of the late Joseph Benton and Nancy Thomason Gregory.
On May 31, 1924, she married Silas Willard Bennett, who preceded her in death on Jan. 8, 1975.
Surviving are three sons, James Bennett and wife, Joann, Wayne Bennett and wife, Gay and Bryan Bennett and wife, Karen, all of Buckhannon; a daughter-in-law, Rosie Bennett, Newton Falls, Ohio; a daughter, Wilma Reed, Moundsville; a brother, Joseph “Junior” Gregory, Alquippa, Pa.; a sister, Marge Friend, Reedsville; 16 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Russell Bennett and Kesel Bennett; five sisters, Lula Smith, Icie Moreland, Geneva Oldaker, Madeline Painter and Annie Ball; a grandson, Frankie Reed; and a son-in-law, Rex Reed.
Mrs. Bennett was a homemaker. She attended Buckhannon Union Mission Church.
Funeral Arrangements: Friends will be received at Poling-st. Clair Funeral Home today from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be in the funeral home chapel Saturday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Junior Harris and the Rev. Dennis Estes officiating. Interment will follow in Heavner Cemetery in Buckhannon.
