Dr. John Henry Gerath, 63, of 871 McCanns Run, Jane Lew, died at 10 p.m. Monday, Feb. 18, 2002, at his residence.
Dr. Gerath was born Feb. 3, 1939, in Trenton, N.J., a son of the late Frank and Julia Antal Gerath.
On June 19, 1960, in Trenton, N.J., he married Bette Ann Hood, who survives.
Also surviving are three daughters, Melanie Diane Gerath, Betsy Lynn Gerath and Bonnie Jean Garey; a son-in-law, George Garey; a brother, Roger Gerath; a sister, Mary Ann Sisson; a granddaughter, Kimberly Marie Gerath; a grandson, Sebastian Alexander Blinn; and several nieces and nephews.
Dr. Gerath was owner of McCanns Run Chiropractic Clinic since 1983.
He was a 1963 graduate of New York Institute of Chiropractic and a graduate from Shenandoah Valley Academy at New Market, Va.
He practiced in New Jersey from 1971 to 1983 and came to West Virginia where he practiced for 18 years.
He was a member of Buckhannon Seventh Day Adventist Church.
Funeral Arrangements: Friends will be received at Buckhannon Seventh Day Adventist Church Saturday from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. A memorial service will be at the church Saturday from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. with Pastor Rick Cutright officiating. A reception will follow from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
