Percy L. Gifford, 65, of Volga, died Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2002, in St. Joseph’s Hospital.
Mr. Gifford was born Feb. 2, 1937, in Trubie Run, Upshur County, a son of Edith O. Corathers Gifford, who survives in Volga, and the late Corbett S. Gifford.
Surviving are two brothers, Paul Gifford, Hodgesville, and Ernest Gifford, Buckhannon; a sister, Betty Linger, Buckhannon; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Edward and Sterling Gifford.
Mr. Gifford was a coal miner and former grounds keeper at Buckhannon Country Club. He was a Baptist by faith.
Funeral Arrangements: Friends will be received at Tomblyn-whitescarver Funeral Home today from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be in the funeral home chapel Friday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Wease Day officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Carmel Cemetery.
