Trummie Thompson, 71, formerly of Wymer, and of Nella’s Inc. since 1990, died at 6:50 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 17, 2002, in Davis Memorial Hospital. He had been in failing health since 1990.
Mr. Thompson was born July 10, 1930, in Onego, a son of the late Ambey and Delpha Payne Thompson.
On Sept. 10, 1963, he married the former Daisy Lambert, who survives in Bowden.
Also surviving are a daughter, Jennifer Thompson, Franklin; a son, James Thompson, Wymer; four sisters, Mary Thompson and Peachie Thompson, both of Circleville, Ressie Boller, Virginia, and Lily Elza, Alpena; two brothers, Achie Thompson, Bowden, and Jerlo Thompson, Riverton; a grandson, Harry Key III; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Dewey Thompson and Hughie Thompson.
Mr. Thompson was a timber cutter for Mongold Lumber until retiring. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during the Korean Conflict. He was a Mennonite by faith.
Funeral Arrangements: Friends will be received at F.E. Runner Funeral Home today after 5 p.m. Funeral services will be in the funeral home chapel Wednesday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Earl Bible, pastor of Allegheny United Methodist Charge officiating. Interment will follow in Lambert Cemetery on Middle Mountain. Full military rites will be accorded by Tygart Valley Post 3647 Veterans of Foreign Wars and H.W. Daniels Post 29 American Legion.
