Emory McDonald 1919-2002 Obituary
Emory McDonald, 82, a resident of Route 1, Elkins, the Chenoweth Creek Road, passed away at 6:15 a.m. Thursday, March 28, 2002, in Davis Memorial Hospital.
He was born Sept. 12, 1919, at Cravensdale, a son of the late Aaron Samuel and Mary Catherine McDonald.
He was married to Vennie Pearl McDonald, who preceded him in death in 1996.
Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Boyd (Catherine “Kitty”) Howard of Mill Creek; one stepson, Charles “Jack” Hamrick and wife, Rita, Perrysburg, Ohio; one stepson-in-law, Louie Gassnola, Thomas; three granddaughters, three great-grandchildren, eight stepgrandchildren, several stepgreat-grandchildren and several nephews.
He was also preceded in death by one stepdaughter, Jean Gassnola; one brother, Raymond McDonald; and one sister, kathleen Wyatt.
Mr. McDonald was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was employed as a lineman for Monongahela Power Co. for 38 years prior to his retirement. He was a member of H.W. Daniels Post 29 American Legion.
Friends may call from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. today at Tomblyn Funeral Home in Elkins. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday from the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Ron Diciolla officiating. Interment will follow in Maplewood Cemetery.
