Ralph Max Currence, 65, a resident of the Harding community, and a former resident of Crystal Springs, passed away at 4:16 p.m. Monday, March 4, 2002, at his home, following an extended illness.
He was born Feb. 15, 1937, in Weston, a son of the late Ralph and Virgie Vawter Currence.
On March 4, 1960, at Elkins, he was married to Amenthia May Triplett Currence, who survives in Harding.
Also surviving are two sons, Gregory M. Currence and wife, Loretta L. Currence of Beverly, and Ralph W. Currence and wife, Tracy M. Currence of Elkins; and two grandchildren, Zachary William and Taylor Ann Currence.
Mr. Currence was employed by the maintenance department of the Elkins Regional Convalescent Center prior to his retirement. He was a member of the Tygart Valley Muzzleloaders and a member of the Crystal Springs Community Church.
Friends may call from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. today at Tomblyn Funeral Home in Elkins. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday from the funeral home chapel with Pastor David Collins officiating. Interment will follow in the Maplewood Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Central West Virginia Dialysis Patients Fund, 1200 Harrison Ave., Elkins, W.Va. 26241 in memorial of Mr. Currence.
