Madolyn Bennett, 80, of Frenchton, and for the last week a resident of Nella’s Nursing Home of Crystal Springs, died at 6:35 a.m. Wednesday, April 3, 2002, where she had been in declining health.
She was born July 17, 1921, in Roane County, a daughter of the late Orville Mack Tanner and Flora Harriet Matheny Tanner.
On May 25, 1946, she married Dennis Oren Bennett, who survives and is a resident at Nella’s Nursing Home.
Also surviving are her only child, a daughter, Flora B. Kelley and husband, Garland of Helvetia; two grandchildren, Paul Kelley of Elkins, and Rebecca Parsons and husband, Jonn of Buckhannon; one great-granddaughter, Hannah Jayd Parsons of Buckhannon; one brother, Orlis Tanner of Mineral Wells; two nephews, John Tanner and Jack Tanner; and four nieces, Loretta Corathers, Pat Long, Ellen Tanner and Kathy DeViller.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Ira Tanner; and one sister, Gwendolyn Kidder.
Mrs. Bennett was a member of the Frenchton United Methodist Church and was a homemaker.
Friends will be received at Robert M. Vincent Funeral Home Saturday from noon until 2 p.m. at which time funeral services will be held with the Rev. Ralph Summerfield officiating. Burial will follow in Beach Town Cemetery. The casket will remain closed.
