Mary Evelyn Boggs, 74, of Seneca Rocks, died Sunday, March 31, 2002, at her residence.
She was born April 13, 1927, in Seneca Rocks, a daughter of the late Andrew J. Champ and Ethel Alt Champ.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gene W. Boggs on March 8, 1979.
She was also preceded in death by an infant grandson, Tracey Yokum; three sisters, Dora Cooper Mauzy, Verdie Hedrick and Joy Basinger; and four brothers, infant Paul Champ, Derrill Champ, Bryson Champ and John Champ.
Mrs. Boggs was a member and trustee of Pleasant View United Methodist Church and a member of the Gideon International Auxiliary. She was a former member of Pendleton Board of Education. She was an honorary member of Circleville FHA and a member of the Extension Homemakers Club, Seneca Rocks. She was also a former 4-h Club leader.
Surviving are one son, Donald Boggs of Chattanooga, Tenn.; three daughters, Cynthia Yokum, Pamela Boggs and Beverly Boggs, all of Seneca Rocks; three sisters, Thelma Rohrbaugh of Petersburg, Rose Virginia Vance, a resident of Grant County Nursing Home, and Ruby Dolly of Medley; five brothers, Earl Champ of Cabins, Quentin Champ of Purgitsville, Darrell Champ, a resident of Grant County Nursing Home, Andrew Harlan Champ of Baltimore, Md., and Dayton Champ of Lahmansville; three grandsons, Roderick Boggs of Tampa, Fla., Kevin Yokum of Buckhannon, and Derek Boggs of Boston, Mass.; three great-grandchildren, Matthew and Lauren Boggs of Tampa, Fla., and Noah Yokum of Buckhannon; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at Schaeffer Funeral Home today from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be in the funeral home chapel Wednesday at 1 p.m. with Pastor Barbara K. Rexroad officiating. Interment will follow in William H. Boggs Family Cemetery at Seneca Rocks.
