Edward Dale Chenoweth 1924-2002 Obituary

Edward Dale Chenoweth, 76, of Grayland, Wash., and formerly of Elkins, California and Arkansas, died Thursday, May 23, 2002, in Sunbridge Care & Rehab, Montesano, Wash.Mr. Chenoweth was born Aug. 5, 1924, in Elkins, a son of Roy Perry and Elva Doerr Chenoweth.

On Sept. 12, 1945, in Phoenix, Ariz., he married Bettye Ingraham Chenoweth, who survives at the family home in Grayland, Wash.

Also surviving are two sons, Keith E. Chenoweth of Richland, Wash., and Rodney A. Chenoweth of Grayland, Wash.; one daughter, Pamela M. Chenoweth of Salem, Ark.; one brother, Bernard Chenoweth of Durham, N.C.; three sisters, Eleanor Fletcher and Roseale Martin, both of Elkins, and Erma Shelton, Tempe, Ariz.; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, Lauren, Roy Jr. and Charles.

Mr. Chenoweth was raised in Elkins and attended Elkins High School. He served in the U.S. Coast Guard. He was a general contractor and master builder in several states including Hawaii, Nevada, Washington, northern and southern California. He was a builder from your average custom home to custom homes for celebrities. He was a member of Grayland Fire Department No. 11 in Grayland, Wash. for eight years. He loved the outdoors, liked to hunt, fish, goldpan and go jeeping.

A Memorial Mass will be at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Westport, Wash. June 15 at 10 a.m. A Rosary will be held at 9:30 a.m. Evergreen Mortuary & Cremation of Grays Harbor is in charge of the arrangements
