Richard “Dick” Evans Sr., 77, of Diamond Oak Way, Zellwood, Fla., passed away Thursday, July 18, 2002.
He was born in Pierce.
He was vice president in sales and training in the insurance industry.
He moved to Central Florida in 1968 from Detroit. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, Mt. Dora, Fla. He was a veteran of World War II and served in the U.S. Army as a paratrooper in the 101 Airborne Division under the command of General Patten.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy; four sons, Richard Jr., Sam, Ken and Tony; two daughters, Mary Ann and Annette; two brothers, Bill and Dale; one sister, Betty; one stepson, three stepdaughters, 28 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Visitations were held Tuesday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Funeral services were held Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Loomis Funeral Home Chapel in Apopka, Fla., with the Rev. Bob Walker officiating. Interment followed in Highland Memory Gardens.
