Doyle Junior Burnside, 65, of Rock Cave, died Monday, July 22, 2002, at 9:10 a.m., at St. Joseph Hospital in Buckhannon.
He was born April 18, 1937, at Holly Grove, a son of the late Doyle E. Burnside and Hettie Marie Davidson Burnside
He is survived by three sons, Edward S. Burnside, Mark W. Burnside and John W. Burnside, all of Rock Cave; two daughters, Sheila K. Shannon of Rock Cave, and Vickie L. Williams of Buckhannon; two brothers, Billy D. Burnside and Donald G. Burnside, both of Rock Cave; one sister, Betty D. Snyder of Rock Cave; and 15 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Helen Marie Burnside; and two brothers, Robert R. Burnside and Basil W. Burnside.
Mr. Burnside was employed by Upshur County School system for 27 years as a school bus driver. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and a member of the Canaan Community Church.
Friends will be received at Robert M. Vincent Funeral Home Thursday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Salem Ridge United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dave Bickel assisted by the Rev. Junior Harris officiating. Burial will follow in the Salem Ridge Cemetery. The body will lie in state at the church from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m., the funeral hour.
