Jennie Louise Stalnaker Burr, 82, of Horner, passed away Sunday, Aug. 25, 2002, at Heartland of Clarksburg Nursing Home, at 8:45 a.m.
She was born at Georgetown on April 22, 1920, a daughter of the late Orland Bailey “Doc” and Delilah Ethel Moss Stalnaker.
She was married to Claude W. “Bill” Burr at Elkins on Jan. 4, 1946, who preceded her in death on Aug. 6, 1987.
Surviving are one son, John A. Burr of Buckhannon; one daughter, Tamela S. Cross of Sistersville; and four grandchildren, Greg Burr of Eugene, Ore., Douglas Burr of Huntington Beach, Calif., Alex Smith of Charleston, and Jessica Smith of Keyser.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Verona Stalnaker Beach; and one brother, Dana Stalnaker.
Mrs. Burr was a former member of the BPW of Buckhannon and the Horner United Methodist Church.
Friends will be received at Morris Funeral Home in Jane Lew today from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. William Dawson officiating. Burial will follow in Horner Cemetery.
