Edna F. Mitchell, 89, a resident of Route 3, Philippi, passed away at 8:45 p.m. Tuesday, July 30, 2002, in Broaddus Hospital.
She was born Feb. 24, 1913, at Arden, the daughter of the late Elihue and Trona Cross Mitchell.
She was united in marriage on April 15, 1933, to Edison “Lud” Mitchell, who preceded her in death on Dec. 22, 1993.
Surviving are five sisters, Opal Burger, Houston, Texas, Haley Wright, Ohio, Rita Kennedy, Grafton, Lela Reed and Violet Mouser, both of Philippi; and one brother, James Mitchell, Shinnston.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Agnes Keller and Thelma Keller; and two brothers, Wilburn Mitchell and Carl Mitchell.
Mrs. Mitchell was a homemaker and a member of the Clemtown United Methodist Church.
Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home, 216 N. Walnut St., Philippi, after 3 p.m. Friday. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Robert Nichols officiating. Interment will follow in the Clemtown Cemetery.
