Kathleen Gardner Miller, 83, of Bellafontaine, Ohio, and formerly of Elyria, died Thursday, July 11, 2002, at the Mary Rutan Hospital in Bellefontaine following a brief illness.
Mrs. Miller was born May 26, 1919, in Elkins. She was an Elyria resident for 40 years before moving to Gallatin, Tenn., where she lived for six years and in 1991 she moved to Bellefontaine.
She was a beautician and was employed by Higbee’s at the former Midway Mall in Elyria in the late 1960s and eventually she worked out of her home.
She was also a homemaker who enjoyed spending time with her family.
Mrs. Miller was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Bellefontaine and was a former member of the Abbe Road Baptist Church and the Elyria Baptist Church, both in Elyria.
Survivors include her daughters, Connie McVetta of Oberlin, Peggy and husband, Mike Norvile, of Lewistown, Ohio; her son, Gary, of Scappoose, Ore., five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a sister, Margaret “Marie” Hinchman, Elkins.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey G. Miller, in 1976; sons Jackie and David; and brothers Gene Gardner, Eddie Gardner and Warren Gardner.
Friends may call Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of services at 11:30 a.m. at the Bauer-laubenthal Funeral Home at Chestnut Ridge Road and state Route 57 in Elyria. The Rev. Jeffory D. Willetts, pastor of the Calvary Baptist Church in Bellefontaine, will officiate. Burial will follow in Brookdale Cemetery in Elyria.
