James E. Chenoweth, 56, of Route 2, Belington, died Saturday evening, Aug. 17, 2002, as a result of an ATV accident.
He was born Oct. 19, 1945, at Beverly, a son of the late Charles B. and Amanda V. Bender Chenoweth.
On Feb. 13, 1966, he married the former Janet L. Weese, who survives at Route 2, Belington.
Also surviving are two daughters, Michelle Shreve and Kris Haddix, both of Belington; three brothers, Raymond Chenoweth, Belington, Frank Chenoweth, Parkersburg, and Donald Chenoweth, Indiana; five sisters, Linda Dolly, Petersburg, Janet L. Chenoweth, Parkersburg, Judy Lantz, Lakeland, Fla., Dora A. Moellendick, Parkersburg, and Cora Chenoweth, Cincinnati, Ohio; two grandsons, Zachary Haddix and Riley Haddix; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Robert W. Chenoweth.
Mr. Chenoweth was a former welder and mechanic in surface mining. He was a Vietnam era Veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps and was an avid hunter and fisherman.
Friends may call at Schoonover-stemple Funeral Chapel in Belington from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. Tuesday, when funeral services will be conducted from the funeral home chapel with the Rev. F.L. “Wink” McQuain officiating. Interment will follow in Belington Fraternal Cemetery.
