Lucy Belle Long, 91, a resident of Buckhannon, died Saturday, Aug. 31, 2002, at Holbrook’s Nursing Home.
She was born April 17, 1911, in Hyer, the daughter of the late John Milton and Iva Emma Hyer Pullin.
On Oct. 30, 1936, she was married to Glen Wayne Long, who died Dec. 16, 1982.
Surviving are three sons, Wayne Glen Long, Charleston, John Harvey Long, Burke, Va., and Benjamin Eugene Long, French Creek; three sisters, Marie Edwards and Ruby Hall, both of Buckhannon, and Evilee Burks, Baltimore, Md.; six grandsons, Jeff Long, Frenchton, Chris Long, Belington, Jason Long, Mechanicsville, Va., Adam Long, Burke, Va., Brad Long and Josh Long, both of Chesapeake; one great-granddaughter, Megan Long, Frenchton; and one great-grandson, Traeton Long, Belington.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Margaret Ellen Long; two sisters, Lula Pullin and Genevieve Dalford; and three brothers, John Pullin, Elbert Pullin and Evert Pullin.
Mrs. Long was a homemaker and seamstress and a member of the Chapel Hill United Methodist Church, Buckhannon Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3663 Ladies Auxiliary and the American Association of Retired Persons.
