Pearle D. Moats Michael 1940-2002 Obituary
Pearle D. Moats Michael, a resident of Stow, Ohio, and a former resident of Philippi, passed away Saturday morning, Aug. 17, 2002, in Cleveland Clinic Hospital, Cleveland, Ohio.
She was born in Barbour County, a daughter of the late George and Bly Moats Hotsinpiller.
She was twice married, first to Earl Moats, who preceded her in death. She was united in marriage on Dec. 24, 1971, to John Michael, who survives.
Also surviving are one daughter and son-in-law, Serrin and husband, Greg Wolfe, Akron, Ohio; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Stephan and wife, Mendy Moats, Route 1, Moatsville, and Earl Edward “Chuck” Moats II, Philippi; one sister and brother-in-law, Pauline and Bill Freeman, Willis, Texas; four grandson, Stephan Moats II, Dillon Moats, Ty Moats and Trey Moats; one grandpuppy, Sparkles; three nieces, Terry and husband, Daniel Olds, Kelli and husband, Randall Vanscoy and Whitni and husband, Jim Kines; three great-nieces, Tasha and Kendyl Olds and Shannon Vanscoy; one great-nephew, Parker Kines; and two aunts, Eva “Cud” Bennett and Mildred Weaver.
She was a top-selling realtor for 2100 Realty in Akron, Ohio. She was a United Methodist by faith.
Friends will be received at Wright Funeral Home, 216 N. Walnut St., Philippi, after 3 p.m. today and until 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, at which time she will be moved to the Fairview Church to lie in state from 1 p.m. until 1:30 p.m., the service hour. The Rev. Michael Rexroad will officiate. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery.
