Rachel E. Fitzwater, 58, a resident of 978 Harrison Ave., Elkins passed away at 5:45 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2002, in Davis Memorial Hospital following an extended illness.
She was born July 28, 1944, in Elkins, a daughter of the late Stanley C. and Kathleen C. Sinsel Haymond.
She was married to Everett L. Fitzwater, who preceded her in death.
She is survived by one son, Roger Nelson of Elkins; four brothers, Charles Haymond, Amelia, Ohio, Allen Haymond, Moscow, Ohio, Dennis Haymond of Beverly, and Henry “Chris” Haymond of Apple Grove; one sister, Myra Haymond Shreve of Beverly; three grandchildren, one great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews and Liz Hutton, who provided care for Mrs. Fitzwater.
Also preceding her in death was one brother, Wayne H. Haymond.
Mrs. Fitzwater was a homemaker.
At the request of the deceased her remains will be cremated. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday from the Tomblyn Funeral Home in Elkins. The Rev. A.H. Belt will officiate.
