Richard Allen “Diesel Jockey” Losh, 58, of Mill Creek, died Saturday, Sept. 21, 2002, at his residence, following an extended illness.
He was a retired truck driver with Amstan Trucking in Clarksville, Tenn.
He was born March 4, 1944, a son of the late Orville and Lula Detamore Losh.
He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Nancy Gregory Losh, whom he married Aug. 19, 1966.
Also surviving are two sons, and daughters-in-law, James and Angie Losh, Mill Creek, and Adam and Gina Losh, Elkins; one daughter and son-in-law, Tammy and Jerry Barnett, Clarksburg; seven grandchildren, Michael and Amber Phillips, Adam and Ayla Posey, Akyra Losh, Kyle and Seth Barnett; one brother-in-law, Ernie Gregory and wife, Colleen, Conyers, Ga.; one nephew, Keagan Gregory; and two nieces, Kelly Thomason and Kerri Carter.
He was also preceded in death by one sister, Sue Kelly Carter Guthrie.
Mr. Losh served in the United States Navy aboard the USS Waccamaw (AO-109) and the USS Kankakee (AO-39) during the Cuban Crisis and the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Tygart Valley Volunteer Fire Department, American Legion Post 29 in Elkins, and the West Virginia Muzzleloaders Association Inc. He enjoyed fishing and hunting and was a true “Mountain Man” at heart. He was a Baptist by faith.
Family and friends may call at the Davis Funeral Home, 1 Olen Thomas Drive, Route 98, Clarksburg, Tuesday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., where funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. Pastor Jim Davis will officiate. Interment will be in the West Virginia National Cemetery where full military graveside rites will be conducted.
