Harry W. Kyle Sr., 71, a former resident of the Chenoweth Creek Road, passed away Sunday morning, Sept. 15, 2002, in Nella’s Nursing Home at Crystal Springs, where he had been a patient since 1994.
He was born Dec. 21, 1931, at Beverly, a son of Wave Smith Kyle Ratliff, who is a patient in the Elkins Regional Convalescent Center, and the late Glen Woodrow Kyle.
On Aug. 16, 1960, at Warm Springs, he was married to Catherine Lucille Mace Kyle, who preceded him in death.
He is survived by three sons, Harry Kyle Jr. of Elkins, Gary Kyle of Beverly, and William Kyle of Elkins; two daughters, Sherry Kyle of Morgantown, and Rosemary Kyle of Elkins; three stepsons, Calvin Wilson of Navarre, Ohio, Jimmy Wilson of Elkins, and Roger Wilson of Ohio; one sister, Sandra Doyle of Beverly; and three grandchildren, Heather Kyle of Elkins, Justin Simmons of Beverly, and Chelsie Watson of North Carolina.
Mr. Kyle was employed for 27 years at Labcraft in Beverly. He was an accomplished musician having played fiddle, guitar and banjo in several local bands. He was a Protestant by faith.
Friends may call from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. today at Tomblyn Funeral Home in Elkins. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday from the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Robert Shreve and the Rev. A.H. Belt officiating. Interment will follow in Mountain State Memorial Gardens near Gilman.
