Ruth Douglas Marple, 88, of 30 Meadow St., Buckhannon, died Wednesday, Sept. 25, 2002, at her home in Buckhannon.
She was born April 20, 1914, in Frenchton, a daughter of the late Cecil and Ulna Rexroad Harper.
On Nov. 27, 1967, she married Henry Marple, who survives.
Also surviving are one son, Richard Douglas, Buckhannon; one stepson, Gary Wayne Marple, Charlotte, N.C.; one stepdaughter, Pamela Bucas, Quiet Dell; one brother, Charles Harper, Cincinnati, Ohio; one sister, Reta Long, Quiet Dell; one nephew, Brett Harper, Cincinnati, Ohio; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son, Wilson Douglas Jr.
She operated West End Grocery. She was a member of West End United Methodist Church and played the piano for the church.
Friends will be received at Poling-st. Clair Funeral Home Saturday from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be in the funeral home chapel Sunday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. William C. Eskew Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in Rock Cave Cemetery in Rock Cave.
