Violet Mae Toots Foster 1929-2002 Obituary
Violet Mae “Toots” Foster, 73, a resident of Hendricks, departed this life early Friday morning, Dec. 20, 2002, at her home. She had been in declining health and death was attributed to cardiac arrest.
She was born April 12, 1929, at Elk, near Dry Fork, a daughter of the late Luther Bright and Clara Bell Carr Bright.
On June 21, 1947, at Oakland, Md., she married George Franklin Foster, who survives. They had celebrated 54 years of marriage.
Also surviving are two sons, Larry Eugene Foster of Hendricks, and Rodney Ray Foster of Elkins; one sister, Pansy Ellen Carr of Cortland Acres Nursing Home, Thomas; and two grandchildren, Mandi Foster, a student at Fairmont State College, and Michael Foster of Elkins.
Preceding her in death were two brothers, Buddy Bright and Hoy Bright, and one granddaughter, Tina Marie Foster.
She attended the school at Mill Run and Parsons High School. She was an employee of the former Tucker County Hospital. She attended the Pentecostal Church of God at Rosendorf and the Parsons Church of God. She was a homemaker and had a great love for flowers and cooking.
The family will be received at Barb & Greenlief Funeral Home in Parsons Monday from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. Final rites will be conducted at the funeral home parlor Tuesday at 11 a.m. Pastor Eli Hostetler will officiate and interment will follow at Parsons City Cemetery. The Barb & Greenlief Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements for Violet Mae Foster.
