Marie Hellen Sublett Maxson, 79, a resident of Baughman Towers and a former resident of Chestnut Street, Philippi, passed away Saturday morning, March 30, 2002, in Broaddus Hospital emergency room
She was born Nov. 3, 1922, at Woodman, Ky., a daughter of the late Dan and Eva Prader Dotson.
She was twice married. First, she married Arthur Paul Sublett Sr. and second, she married Charles Maxson, both whom preceded her in death.
Surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, Arthur Paul “Corkey” Sublett Jr., and wife, Marian, 20 Beech Ave., Philippi; three grandchildren, Bobbie Jo Harris, Shawn Sublett and Scott Sublett; and two great-grandchildren, Shaina Sublett and Kelci Sublett.
She was preceded in death by three sisters and two brothers.
She was a homemaker and a United Methodist by faith.
Friends will be received at Wright Funeral Home, 216 N. Walnut St., Philippi, after 6 p.m. today. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Bryan Headley officiating. Interment will follow in Philippi Masonic Cemetery.
