Geraldine Tacy Chenoweth 1928-2010 Obituary
Geraldine Tacy Chenoweth, 81, of Elkins, WV entered into eternal rest Thursday December 31, 2009 at Elkins Regional Convalescent Center, Elkins, WV surrounded by family.
She was born Sunday February 26, 1928 in Shaver’s Run Community, a daughter of the late Ira and Nina Louk Arbogast.
Geraldine was twice married, first to Luther Tacy who preceded in death and second to Willard Chenoweth who also preceded her in death.
During WWII she was employed alongside her husband Luther Tacy working at aircraft company in Meadsville, PA for the war effort.
She was employed as a housekeeper for 35 years at Davis and Elkins College.
She enjoyed gardening, cooking and canning.
She was of the Methodist faith. Geraldine was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend who will be missed very much. In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by one half-brother: Johnny Arbogast and one step-daughter: Nancy Rogers. Her survivors include one daughter: Frances Cook of OH; five sons: Dempsey Tacy and wife Teresa of Belington, WV, Jimmy Tacy and wife Donna of TX, Michael Tacy and wife Beth of Huttonsvlle, WV, Terry Tacy and wife Patricia of Spring Grove, PA and Richard Tacy and wife Martha of Elkins, WV; fifteen grandchildren and several great-grandchildren; one step-daughter: Susie Wingler of Chicago, IL; seven step-sons: Kevin Chenoweth of St. Clairsville, OH, Terry Chenoweth, Jeff Chenoweth and wife Julie, Mike Chenoweth and wife Susie, Gary Chenoweth and wife Marsha, Allen Chenoweth and companion Debbie all of Elkins, WV and Joe Chenoweth and wife Pam of Parsons, WV; nineteen step-grandchildren and eight step-great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m until 9:00 p.m. Saturday January 2,2010 at The Randolph Funeral Home and Cremation Services; 100 Meadow Lane; Valley Bend, WV.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Sunday January 3, 2010 at the funeral home chapel with Pastor Howard Swick officiating.
Burial will follow in Kelly Cemetery at Valley Vista on Becky’s Creek.
