Paul Armstrong, 78, of Adolph Road, Mill Creek, WV entered into eternal rest Thursday December 17, 2009 at his residence surrounded by family. He was born Sunday May 31, 1931 in Elkins, WV, a son of the late Doyle and Georgia Currence Armstrong. On Saturday December 3, 1955 he married Opal Fincham who preceded him in death Tuesday March 29, 2005. Paul attended the schools of Randolph County, WV. He was employed as a foreman for R.H. Armstrong, Inc. in Parsons, WV for over fifty years. He loved to play the guitar. He was very proud of being a member of the US Army during the Korean Conflict. In addition to his parents and wife he was preceded in death by one sister and brother-in-law: Lavonda Channell and husband Floyd; one brother and sister-in-law: Billy Armstrong and wife Eloise and one granddaughter: Carla Hively. Paul will be sadly missed by his six daughters: Paula “Ginger” Wooddell of Elkins, Judith “Cookie” Collins of Wilmington, NC, Sherry Mauzy of Davis, Joyce Hofemann of Austin, TX, Robin Armstrong of Dailey and Tina Taylor of Mill Creek; one son: Paul “Sparky” Armstrong, Jr. of Mill Creek; two sisters: Mary Fincham and husband Jack of Mill Creek and Yvonne Valentine and husband “Speed” of Elkins; fifteen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Randy Long officiating.Burial will follow in Brick Church Cemetery at Huttonsville, WV.
