John Maston Riffe, Jr., 41, of Durbin, WV entered into eternal rest Tuesday October 19, 2010 at Morgantown, WV. He was born Saturday August 16, 1969 in Welch, WV, the only son of John M. Riffe, Sr. and Linda Cook Riffe. He attended the schools of Pocahontas County. He was a 1987 graduate of Pocahontas County High School. On Saturday June 5, 1993 at the Methodist Church in Durbin, Wv he married the former Melissa Mick. He was employed as a chaplain by the Huttonsville Correctional Center and as a pastor at New Life in Christ Fellowship Church in Durbin, WV. John enjoyed the outdoors. He loved fishing, hunting and playing golf. He enjoyed Bible study very much. Left to cherish his memories are his wife Melissa “Missy” Mick Riffe of Durbin, WV; one daughter: Emma Joy Riffe at home; mother: Linda Riffe of Durbin, WV; father and step-mother: John Riffe, Sr. and Ann of Kerens, WV; one sister: Melanie Riffe of Durbin, WV ; paternal grandmother: Lavada Riffe of War, WV; two nephews: Danny and Chris Kimble of Durbin, WV; several aunts, uncles and cousins. In honoring John’s wishes his body will be cremated. The family will have a Celebration of Life at 11:00a.m. Friday October 22, 2010 at the Durbin Volunteer Fire Department located on Rrt. 250 in Durbin, WV with Pastor David Angel officiating.
