Albert Abbie Warden Bennett, 72, of Hambleton, WV entered into eternal rest early Saturday night September 4, 2010 at home surrounded by family. He was born Saturday December 18, 1937 in West Point, KY, a son of the late Claude and Lucille Hayes Bennett. Abbie was a veteran of the US Navy during the Korean Conflict. He was honorably discharged with the rank of E-5 Machinist Mate. He was a dairy farmer for thirty years then became an insurance agent with Commonwealth Life Insurance out of Louisville, KY. He moved to Hambleton, WV ten years ago from Shepherdsville, KY. He loved the mountains of WV and his passion was deer hunting. On Friday October 28, 1983 in Radcliffe, KY he wed Anna Lee Bennett. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one granddaughter: Alli Bennett; two brothers: Arthur and Eugene Bennett and one step-son: Bill Crosten, Jr. Left to cherish his memories are his wife: Anna Lee Bennett of Hambleton, WV; two daughters: Tammy Burden and husband Lee and Melody Burr and husband Rick; one son: Tony Bennett; two granddaughters: Shena and Kaci Bennett; three grandsons: Matthew and Adam Metcalf and Michael Johnson; one great-granddaughter: Kassidy Fox and one great-grandson: Brandon Fox all of Shepherdsville, KY; two sisters: Yvonne Thompson and husband Larry of South Haven, MN and Bette Woolett of Shepherdsville, KY; one brother: Charles Bennett of Annadale, MN and one step-son: Mark Crosten and wife Patty of Chardon, OH. Visitation will be held from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m. Tuesday September 7, 2010 at the Church of God located at 509 Central Avenue in Parsons, WV. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday September 7, 2010 at the church with Pastor Eli Hostetler officiating. Burial will follow at Collett Cemetery in Hambleton, WV.
