Woodrow Wilson Doerr, 93, a resident of Elkins, WV, entered into eternal rest Friday June 18, 2010 at Hospice Inpatient Care Center in Elkins. He was born Monday June 26, 1916 in Beverly, WV, a son of the late John Joseph and Alice Caroline Channell Doerr. He was a member of the Woodford Memorial Methodist Church in Elkins. Woodrow loved sports, especially basketball. He owned and operated Woody’s Carpet Cleaning in Elkins for many years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four sisters: Russie Garrett, Virginia Burdette, Neva Harris and Lena Ayers and three infant siblings. Left to cherish his memories are four sons: Joseph Doerr and Karl Doerr both of Pittsburgh, PA, Lanny Doerr of Elkins and Jeffrey Doerr of Clifton, VA; four daughters: Dona Doerr address unknown, Jody Jones , Diane Narohna and Terrie Doerr all of Elkins; one sister: Edna Weese of Elkins; sixteen grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren Graveside memorial service will be held at a later date.
