Doris Hollen Mathew 1934-2010 Obituary
Doris Hollen Mathew, age 75, of Buckhannon, WV died Monday, October 18, 2010 at Elkins Regional Convalescent Center in Elkins, WV.
She was born November 1, 1934 in Upshur County, WV, a daughter of the late Bert Tenney, Sr. and Shirley Hollen Tenney.
On August 24, 1957 she married Harry W. Mathew, Sr., who preceded her in death on April 10, 1998.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one sister, Mildred Valente and one brother, Bert Tenney, Jr.
She is survived by one son, Harry “Buff” Mathew and wife Melissa of Buckhannon; one daughter, Vickie Dean and husband Dwayne of Buckhannon; one grandson, Randall of Buckhannon; two granddaughters, Cheryl of Houston, TX and Elizabeth of Buckhannon; three great-granddaughters, Jennifer, Stephanie and Krista of Houston; one sister, Dana Tallman and husband Bobby Joe of Tallmansville, WV; a sister in law, Madeline Tenney of Ten Mile, WV and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Mathew was a homemaker.
She was a member of the Buckhannon VFW Post # 3663 Ladies Aux. and the Buckhannon Moose Lodge # 598 Women of the Moose.
Friends will be received Wednesday, October 20, 2010 from 4-8 PM at the Poling-st. Clair Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held 2 PM Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev. Tim Lewis officiating.
Burial will follow in the Ten Mile Baptist Cemetery at Ten Mile, WV.
Poling-st. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
