RODNEY STEWARD HECKLER, age 44 years, a resident of Parsons, WV, departed this life Tuesday morning, January 5, 2010 at Ruby Memorial Hospital at Morgantown. He had been in declining health since November and death was attributed to complications of the H1N1 swine flu.
He was born Thursday, February 11, 1965 at Parsons, WV, a son of the late Ronald Heckler, who preceded him in death 2001, and his mother, Shirley Jones and husband Greg, who survive at Weston, WV. He was married to the former Bonnie Poling, who survives.
Also surviving are one son, Rodney Steward Heckler, II of Fairmont; two daughters, Nicole Dawn Warnick and husband Bob of Parsons and Hope Marie Poling and husband Scott of Hendricks; two brothers, Brian D. Heckler of Aurora, Clint Heckler and wife Namiko of Korea; two sisters, Rhonda Quinn of Pasadena, MD, Beverly Hardesty and husband Ron of Swanton, MD; and one granddaughter, Olivia Keeler of Parsons.
He was a graduate of East Preston High School with the Class of 1983. He was a truck driver for twenty five years, working for Fairfax Trucking Co. and D & W Truck Lines. He was an avid outdoorsman.
The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Parsons on Friday from 5 to 8 PM. Final rites will be conducted at the funeral home parlor Saturday, January 9, 2010 at 1:30PM. Rev. Pat Cassidy will officiate and interment will follow at the Parsons City Cemetery at Parsons.
