BERNARD EARL ALLENDER, age 74 years, a former resident of Norton, WV and more recently a resident of Elkins, WV departed this life early Saturday morning, January 16, 2010 at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center’s Presbyterian Hospital, following an extended illness.
He was born Saturday, July 13, 1935 at Norton, WV a son of the late Dewey Ernest Allender and Hazel Vanscoy Allender. He was married to the former Johanna H. Kess, who survives. Also surviving are three daughters, Brandy Sizemore and Crystal Allender, both of Powellton, WV; Pamela Clehm, Lawton, OK; and six grandchildren, Kristina, Michael and Michelle Sizemore and Dylan, Terry and Ethan Clehm.
Bernard was a graduate of the school at Norton, had worked as a meat cutter, self employed TV Repairman and stay at home dad, and was a member of the Beverly Community Church. He was a loving father, grandfather and friend who will be sadly missed.
The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Elkins on Wednesday, January 20, 2010 from 10 AM to 11 AM, the funeral hour. Pastor Curlie Ray, Jr. will officiate and interment will follow at the Elkins Memorial Gardens on the Airport Road, Elkins, WV.
