DORIS ARLENE WOLFORD BOOTH MILLER, age 71 years, a resident of Canaan Valley, WV, departed this life early Wednesday morning, February 10, 2010 at the Garrett County Memorial Hospital at Oakland, MD.
She was born Thursday, May 26, 1938 at Stringtown, WV, a daughter of the late Austin Barton Wolford and Vallie Viola Crossland. On May 23, 2004 at Parsons, WV, she was married to Glenn Zeno Miller, who survives.
Also surviving are one son, Brian Patrick Booth of Petersburg, WV; two daughters, Ellen Yvonne Shaffer and husband Ronnie of St. George, Cheryl Annette Shimp and husband Nathan of Canton, GA; two stepsons, Donald Miller and wife Karen of Wilmington, DE, Marlin Miller and wife Diane of Parsons; one stepdaughter, Marlane Lucente and husband David of Canaan Valley; three brothers, David Wolford of Elkins, Dwight Edward “Eddie” Wolford of Mt. Zion, John Phillips of Asheboro, NC; one sister, Roberta “Bobbi” O’Quinn of Elkins, twelve grandchildren; one great granddaughter and one great grandson.
Preceding her in death are one daughter, Rebecca Darlene Miller; and three brothers, Barton Wolford, Jr., Coy Jacob Wolford and Dennis Carl Wolford.
She was a graduate of Parsons High School with the Class of 1957. She was an Accountant and a former employee of Monongalia General Hospital at Morgantown working for twenty years in the Medical Transcription Dept. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church at Parsons and she attended Canaan Valley Baptist Church at Canaan Valley.
The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Parsons on Friday from 4 to 7 PM. Final rites will be conducted at the funeral home parlor Saturday, February 13, 2010 at 1PM. The Rev. Mark Joseph will officiate and interment will follow at the Parsons City Cemetery at Parsons.
