FREDONIA MAE “DONNA” WORKMAN ISNER, age 77 years, a resident of Elkins, WV departed this life early Friday morning, April 16, 2010 at the Elkins Regional Convalescent Center at Elkins, WV. She had been in declining health for the past two years.
She was born Thursday, August 4, 1932 at Elkins, WV a daughter of the late Lee Workman and Pearlie Otis Coberly Workman. On June 12, 1953, at Elkins, WV, she was married to Calvin Claud Isner, who survives. Also surviving are one son, Timothy Lee Isner, Elkins; three daughters, Vickie Sue Isner, Elkins, Paula Kaye Schollaert and husband Mark, Charleroi, PA, Brenda Gail Cunningham and husband Randy, Elkins; five grandchildren, Rachel, Renato, Melissa, David and Natalie; two great grandchildren, Matthew and Marcus; and several nieces and nephews.
She was the last surviving member of her immediate family having been preceded in death by five brothers, William, Charles, Howard, Harry and Gerald Workman; five sisters, Mary Streets, Alene Stalnaker, Georgia Lea Smith, Gladys Powers and Willa Jean Hornick.
She attended the Sugar Grove School and was a member of the Elkins Nazarene Church. She was a homemaker; she enjoyed babysitting for many children at her home and she loved to read her Bible.
The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Elkins on Monday from 5 to 8 PM. On Tuesday morning April 20, 2010, Mrs. Isner will be moved to the Elkins Nazarene Church on the Parsons Road where final rites will be conducted at 11:30AM. The Rev. Terry A. Burgess and Pastor Mark Schollaert will officiate and interment will follow at the Mountain State Memorial Gardens at Gilman, WV.
