JOHNNIE FRANCIS GOSS, JR., age 70 years, a resident of Parsons, WV, departed this life Friday afternoon, May 14, 2010 at Saint Josephs Hospital at Burbank, CA.
He was born Tuesday, September 12, 1939 at Parsons, WV, a son of the late Johnnie Francis Goss, Sr. and Christeen Maxine Repair Goss. He was twice married. First to the former Sheila Rae Walker, who survives at MI. On May 1, 1996 at Oakland, Md, he was married to the former Debra Lynn Kyle, who survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Michael Francis Goss and wife Rebecca “Becky” of Fayetteville, NC, Fred A. Goss and wife Arlene of Sherman Oaks, CA; one step daughter, Melissa Lynn Arnold Rhoads and husband Craig of Townsend, DE; two sisters, Carol Jean Thomas and husband Garry and Lynda Darlene Gray and husband Pat, all of Parsons; six grandchildren, John Thomas Goss, Thomas Michael Goss, Eli Henry Goss, Ezra James Goss, Stella Jane Goss and Emily Lynn Rhoads.
Preceding him in death are one brother, Donald Thomas Goss and one infant grandson, Brad Michael Goss.
He was a graduate of Parsons High School with the Class of 1958. He had worked at the Casterline Funeral Home in Michigan for five year. He worked at the Farm Labor Camp picking oranges in California. He was instrumental in establishing SuperShuttle International, where he was President and CEO. He served as a Councilman for the City of Parsons. He was a member of the Riverview Chapel Church.
The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Parsons on Friday from 5 to 8 PM. Final rites will be conducted at the funeral home parlor Saturday, May 22, 2010 at 3 PM. The Reverend Dick Gadd will officiate and interment will follow at the Parsons City Cemetery at Parsons.
