LALAH NAN JONES ENDS, age 93 years, a resident of Parsons, WV, departed this life Sunday afternoon June 13, 2010 at the Hospice Care Regional Inpatient Center at Elkins.
She was born Tuesday, May 1, 1917 at Pifer Mt., St. George, WV, a daughter of the late Adlia Jones and Tacy Lee Nestor Jones Nicwender. On September 18, 1937, she was married to Doyle Cleophas Ends, who preceded her in death July 19, 2001.
Surviving are four sons, Paul “Donnie” Ends and wife Betty of Pifer Mt, St. George, Lawrence Ends and wife “Katie” of Parsons, Sherley Ends and wife Jane of Parsons and Scotty Ends and wife Gloria of Hedgesville; two daughters, Irene DeMoss and husband Charles of Middlefield, OH and Dottie Sponaugle and husband Bryan of Pifer Mt, St. George; thirteen grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
She is the last surviving member of her immediate family having been preceded in death by two brothers, Harold and Denver Jones and one grandson, Christopher Alan Ends, August 24, 2007.
She attended the one room #8 School at Pifer Mountain. She was a member of St. Johns United Methodist Church and St. Johns United Methodist Women, where she received Mother of the Year Award. She was a quilter and loved her flowers and working in the garden.
The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Parsons on Wednesday from 5 to 8 PM. Final rites will be conducted at the funeral home parlor Thursday, June 17, 2010 at 11 AM. The Rev. John Morrison will officiate and interment will follow at the Pifer Mountain Cemetery at St. George.
