CAROL EDWINA ERICKSON DANIELS, age 76 years, formerly of Files Creek Road in Beverly and most recently a resident of Valentine’s Personal Care Home of Beverly since July 2009, departed this life July 10, 2010.
She was born Saturday, January 27, 1934 at Elkins, WV, a daughter of the late Carl Edwin, Sr. and Eleanor Lobb Erickson. On Sept. 2, 1956 at Elkins, she was united in marriage to John Lowell Daniels, who preceded her in death March 2, 2008.
Surviving are one son, Stephen L. Daniels and wife Lori of Beverly, two granddaughters, Hannah Faith and Heidi Leanne Daniels, both of Beverly; three sisters, Dorothy Erickson of Elkins, Joann Brannon of Greensboro, NC, and Evelyn Lange of Elkins; two brothers, George “Butch” Erickson and wife Diane of Athens, TN and Carl “Shorty” Erickson, Jr. and wife Carol of Elkins and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death are her grandparents, Thomas V. and Uranias Lobb and Frederick and Matilda Erickson and a favorite niece, Michelle Lange.
She was a graduate of Elkins High School with the Class of 1952. She was employed at the former G.C. Murphy’s, Montgomery Ward and Goldberg’s in Elkins until 1965. After retirement, she enjoyed being a full time wife, Mother, and homemaker. A member of the First Baptist Church in Elkins since 1951, she enjoyed singing in the church choir. She was known for her handi-crafts in crochet, quilting and needlework and was an avid antique collector. She loved gardening, hummingbirds, preserving, cooking and working alongside her son and late husband on the farm.
The family will receive friends at the First Baptist Church of Elkins on Tuesday, July 13, 2010 from 3 PM to 4 PM the funeral hour. The Rev. Dr. Marvin L. Parli will officiate and interment will follow at the Mount Vernon Cemetery at Beverly.
