RUTH ELAINE ROY JORDAN, age 64 years, a resident of Elkins, WV departed this life Sunday afternoon, September 19, 2010 at the Elkins Regional Convalescent Center at Elkins, WV surrounded by her family following a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born Wednesday, September 26, 1945 at Elkins, WV a daughter of the late Lindsey Parker Roy and Mary Love Smith Roy. She was married to Philip Beaumont “Phil” Jordan, who preceded her in death September 4, 2005. Surviving are four sons, Philip Darin Jordan and Tammy Johnson, Elkins; Bryan Parker Jordan and wife Valerie, Montrose; Randal “Chris” Jordan and fiancé Christal Channell, Elkins; Lowell “Sander” Jordan and wife Jessica, Fairmont; one daughter, Tamela Renee Lewis and husband Danny, Elkins; three brothers, Denver and Roger Roy, Elkins; Ronald Roy, NC; one sister, Maxine Varney, Elkins; thirteen grandchildren, Trista, Trenton, Bryan “B.J.”, Noah and Kaden Jordan; Emily, Lukas, Gabriel and Matthew Jordan; Philip D. Jordan II, Sophia Jordan, Claira Jordan and Hunter Lewis; one great grandson, Elijah Viola and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death is two brothers, Randal and Parker Roy and one grandson, Brandon Matthew Collins.
She was a graduate of Elkins High School with the Class of 1963, and attended Davis & Elkins College. She was the owner, operator and broker of Jordan Realty. She was a member of the National Board of Realtors, the Elkins Regional Multiple Listing Service and devoted her life to her family, grandchildren, loved to travel and was an eternal optimist.
The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Elkins from 5 to 8 PM, Wednesday. Final Rites will be conducted at the funeral home chapel, Thursday, September 23, 2010 at 11:30 AM. The Rev. Ronald Blake Roy will officiate and interment will follow at the Elkins Memorial Gardens on the Airport Road, Elkins, WV.
