NORMA JANE LAMBERT BOSERMAN, age 85 years, a resident of Elkins, WV departed this life Saturday afternoon, October 16, 2010 at the Hospice Care Regional Inpatient Center.
She was born Wednesday, November 19, 1924 at Circleville, WV a daughter of the late Walter Lambert and Eva Phares Lambert. She was thrice married. First, in 1945, she married Porter Jones, who preceded her in death. Second, in 1952, she married H. Dale Rexrode, who preceded her in death. Third, on July 13, 1956, she married Robert W. Boserman, who preceded her in death October 31, 2004. They had celebrated forty-eight years of marriage. Surviving are three sons, Charles “Chip” Jones and fiancé Diana Thomas, Fort Walton Beach, FL; Dale Rexrode and fiance Sandi Herron, Clarksburg; Commander Robert W. Boserman II, US Navy Retired and wife Barbara Corley, Newcastle, OK; three daughters, Sharon Rexrode Panek and husband Michael, Melbourne, FL; Beverly Koon and husband Scott, Canton, IL; Linda Edwards and husband Russell, Raleigh, NC; one step daughter, Doris Ann Longwell and husband Herb, Clarksburg; eleven grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.
She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Preceding her in death are one sister, Myrtle Channell; four brothers, Merle, Paul, Bill and Jesse Lambert.
She was a graduate and valedictorian of Circleville High School with the Class of 1943 and attended West Virginia Business College at Parkersburg. During World War II, she was employed with the Navy Department in Washington, DC and Virginia Beach, VA as a clerk and typist. She was an office manager for Sancar Corporation at Harrisonburg, VA and was later employed with the WV Department of Highways for twenty-two years, retiring in 1987. She was a Methodist by faith and attended the Highland Park United Methodist Church until she was unable to attend. Norma loved gardening, especially with flowers, painting birds on birdhouses, crocheting and other crafts.
The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Elkins from 5 to 8 PM, Monday. On Tuesday morning, October 20, 2010 Mrs. Boserman will be moved to the Highland Park United Methodist Church, where friends may call from 12:30PM to 1:30 PM, the funeral hour. The Rev. Jonas Johnson, Jr. will officiate and interment will follow at the Mountain State Memorial Gardens at Gilman, WV.
