RUDOLPH JAMES “RUDY” MCDANIEL, age 78 years, a resident of Parsons, WV, departed this life Thursday evening, November 11, 2010 at the Davis Memorial Hospital at Elkins, WV, following a long courageous battle with cancer.
He was born Tuesday, June 21, 1932 at Carroll County, MD, the son of the late Hubert T. McDaniel and Mary Rose McDaniel. He was married to the former Patty Snyder, who survives.
Also surviving are five sons, Robert Dennis of Thomas, Charles Dennis of Morgantown, John Collett, Jr. of Bayard, Jerry McDaniel of Westminster, MD, Brooks Sentz of Norfolk, VA; three daughters, Tammy Dennis Burgess of Pinch, WV, Meliza McDaniel and Lois McDaniel of Hollidaysburg, PA; three brothers, Hubert Tom Thompson and wife Carol of Westminster, MD, Douglas McDaniel of Roanoke, VA and Marion McDaniel and wife Annabelle of Gettysburg, PA. He was blessed by many grandchildren and great grandchildren. A special great grandson, Jacob Dennis, who gave him the Courage to go on.
He attended the schools of Maryland. He was an employee of the former Parsons Footwear, until it’s closing and he was a former employee of Canaan Valley Resort for twenty years. His hobbies included woodworking and he was a sewing machine mechanic.
The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Parsons on Tuesday from 5 to 8 PM. Final rites will be conducted at the funeral home parlor Wednesday November 17, 2010 at 2PM. Pastor Pat Cassidy will officiate and interment will follow at the Bethel Cemetery at Holly Meadows.
